Pat Torres, development director for the Georgia Symphony Orchestra (GSO), first served the organization as a member of the GSO board of directors from 2014-2017. Before joining the GSO staff in June 2018, Ms. Torres spent nearly 15 years as a healthcare marketing and communication professional in the metro-Atlanta area. Her most recent position was with WellStar Health System, in Marietta, Ga., where she was employed as an internal communications strategist.
A longtime Cobb County resident, Ms. Torres has been an active volunteer over the years for many local organizations besides the GSO, including the Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society of Kennesaw State University (KSU), Wheeler High School Bands Booster Club, East Marietta National Little League, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and the Georgia Parent Teacher Association.
Ms. Torres earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication – Public Relations from KSU and also holds an associate degree in retail buying and merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, New York. She currently is a member of the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and the Audience Building Roundtable initiative of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.
