(Marietta, Ga. September 23, 2022) Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestras (GYSO) has been selected as a recipient of a See Beautiful grant in the amount of $500. This grant will be used to support GYSO programs by removing financial barriers from students who want to participate in our music education programs.
“We appreciate the See Beautiful partnership with us in order to further our impact in the community,” said Susan Stensland, Co-Interim Executive Director of GSO. “We are honored that members at See Beautiful recognize our commitment to education, and empowerment to create more beautiful in the world.”
The See Beautiful organization is committed to providing artistic opportunities for all people to enhance the quality of cultural life in the community. See Beautiful has donated over $200,000 through its grant program and strategic giving initiatives.
GYSO empowers and supports students in accomplishing musical goals and in developing teamwork and leadership skills. GYSO comprises five orchestras, a jazz ensemble, a percussion ensemble, flute and clarinet choirs, a string symposium, several chamber ensembles, and GYSO Chorus.
Through auditions, gifted and talented school-aged musicians from across the state are given the opportunity to continue musical development in a nurturing and supportive environment. GYSO members perform at the highest level during a full season of concerts.
The educational arm of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra (GSO), GYSO is the largest youth orchestra program in the Southeast and is one of the top 10 nationally. The GSO is currently in its 72nd Season and has performances scheduled from September 2022 through May 2023.
