Audiences young and old were transported to a world of magic, when the GSO presented A Day with Disney in two concerts Saturday, November 11. The atmosphere was electric as families and children, dressed as their favorite Disney characters, gathered to listen to timeless Disney melodies, spanning decades of beloved films.
The orchestra, embracing the spirit of the occasion, transformed the stage with a sea of colorful costumes. From Aladdin to Indiana Jones…Princess Elsa to Princess Leia…our talented musicians joined in the fun and added to the excitement of the day.
The GSO collaborated with several community partners to spread the magic even further.
We were honored to join the Make-a-Wish Foundation in helping to make JB McWorter’s dream of being an orchestra conductor come true. In what proved to be the highlight of the afternoon, JB led the orchestra with infectious energy that left smiles on the faces of all in attendance.
Additionally, we teamed up with Walton Communities and Circles Cobb to give away over 200 tickets to families and children served by their organizations.
