GSO 2016-17 Season Package

Our 2016-2017 Master Works Series features some of the world’s greatest classical music featuring new GSO Music Director, Timothy Verville! In addition, the season includes performances by the GSO Chorus, GSO Jazz! and the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well as a special Sensory Friendly performance in partnership with Autism Speaks.

The Georgia Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with Autism Speaks is proud to present the second annual Sensory Friendly Concert designed especially for persons with autism and their families. A new addition to GSO’s educational and outreach program, this concert will give a broad overview of the great expanse of classical music. Sensory sensitive listeners and family members will delight in the discovery of an orchestral experience that invites and welcomes the autistic into the world of classical music, with guest violinist John Irrera.

Just the Beginning

The end of the season is just the beginning as the Georgia Symphony Orchestra performs an evening of preludes, overtures, and concert openers by some of the greatest composers. The finale goes out with a bang to the sounds of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture with the GSO Chorus!

GYSO Season Finale

These final concerts of the season feature original compositions by the percussion ensemble and a special performance featuring the winner of the concerto competition and for the first time, the GSO Chorus! The season finale is a grand culmination of the entire year’s work.
