Georgia Symphony ORCHESTRA EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR BRIAN HERMANSON CONCLUDES 4
YEAR TENURE
Appointed to lead the CSO in 2006, Brian
Hermanson, Executive Director of the
Georgia Symphony Orchestra, told the
Musicians and Board of Trustees on
Wednesday, March 10, at its annual State
of the CSO address, that he has elected
to accept the position of the Executive
Director with the San Luis Obispo
Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Hermanson, who
has presided over considerable growth
and innovation during his tenure with
the CSO, said “... the San Luis Obispo
Symphony is a formidable entity. This is
an opportunity that started slowly and
suddenly accelerated in the last couple
of weeks. The San Luis Obispo Symphony
has held a leadership role in the
training of performers, scholars,
creators, educators and musical citizens
and aligns itself with everything
currently in process with the Cobb
Symphony and all its programs. The
opportunity to work with another
institution of this stature, with the
wonderful lessons in perspective that I
gained from the exceptional people at
the CSO, seemed like an opportunity that
