C. Gerome Stewart has been playing the violin for 16 years and has performed with orchestras throughout Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Indiana. Mr. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Columbus State University and a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Louisville. His principal teachers have been George Brandt, Patricio Cobos, Manuel Diaz, and J. Patrick Rafferty. Mr. Stewart has participated in master classes with artists such as Cecylia Arzewski, Robert McDuffie, Midori, György Kurtág, the Erioca Trio, the Diaz Trio, the Turtle Island String Quartet and the Miami String Quartet. He has worked with noted conductors Louis Lane, David Effron, Gunther Schuler, and Keith Lockhart. In 2005, Mr. Stewart was visiting co-concertmaster of the Meridian and Tupelo Symphonies and concertmaster of the Starkville Symphony. Mr. Stewart attended the Brevard Music Center for four years. During the 2004 - 2006 seasons he was a teaching assistant. For two years, he was on the faculty at the Columbus State University Music Conservatory, where some of his students performed with the Columbus Youth Orchestra. In the Spring of 2008, he joined the Carl Rosa Opera Company for their U.S. tour of Gilbert and Sullivan's "HMS Pinafore" and "The Mikado". Mr. Stewart performs with the Lagrange and Gainesville Symphonies (GA) and is Principal Second Violin of the Albany Symphony Orchestra (GA).
