![]() Georgia Center for the Arts → Meet the Teachers → Erin Cassel Erin Cassel, cello Student of Paul York, Felix Wang, and Anne Williams, Erin Cassel holds her Bachelor’s of Music in Cello Performance from the University of Louisville. During her college years, she was involved in extensive chamber and solo recitals, while serving as principal cellist of the U of L Symphony Orchestra. Erin’s summers have been spent studying at Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, and Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory. Since graduating, Erin has toured with four orchestras, the latest of which includes an international tour to China. She has recently moved near Atlanta, GA, where she teaches students ages preschool through adult, using a modified Suzuki method along with the Louis Potter school of teaching. Her studio teaching technique combines training in basic musicianship skills and sight reading, along with solo repertoire preparation. Outside of her teaching and orchestral work, Erin enjoys performing with many chamber ensembles in the Atlanta area.
