![]() ![]() Orchestra → Meet the Orchestra → Julie Albertson
Julie came to Atlanta in 1990 to continue her
free-lance work and was appointed principal harpist of
the Georgia Symphony Orchestra in 1994. She has
previously been a featured soloist with the CSO,
performing Debussy’s Danses Sacree et Profane in 1998,
Grandjany’s Aria in Classic Style in 2002, and Mozart’s
Concerto for Flute & Harp in 2005. She has performed frequently with the Atlanta
Symphony, Atlanta Pops, Atlanta Ballet, and Atlanta
Opera orchestras, as well with as the Georgia
Philharmonic. Julie has backed several artists,
including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Natalie Cole, Henry
Mancini, Trisha Yearwood, and Ray Charles. She has
also provided music at private events for Julie has played the harp for thousands of
wedding ceremonies, receptions, dinners, recitals,
orchestral and choral performances, and other special
occasions. She has performed on European tours in
Rome, Italy, and Vienna, Austria, and appears on several
compact disc recordings. Julie and her husband Rob reside with Orla,
their golden retriever, in Alpharetta.
